Mental Health and Wellbeing
Wellbeing at Hughenden
We recognise that children learn best when they feel safe, secure, and connected. Our whole-school approach to wellbeing promotes positive mental health, emotional resilience, and healthy relationships. We work closely with pupils, families, and external agencies to ensure that every child receives the support they need, enabling them to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our Senior Mental Health Lead is Mrs Bendall.
At school, we provide a range of interventions and support ranging from Theraplay to Lego Club. Please see our Wellbeing Policy for further details.
Seeking Support
MHST

We are very lucky to have a strong relationship with the Mental Health Support Team through our link Education Mental Health Practitioner, Saul. He is able to provide support and advice to both school staff and parents.

School Nursing
The school nursing team is able to support families with a range of issues from trouble sleeping to emotional regulation.
Please contact Mrs Bendall at sendco@hughendenprimary.co.uk if you would like to discuss a referral to either the MHST or School Nursing for your child.
Autism Early Support

Whether your child has a diagnosis or not, the Parent's Portal is a free service providing advice, support and groups of parents who may have similar experiences. It can be accessed via:
