Macmillan Coffee Morning

28th September 2018

''Our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

Early afternoon, on Friday 28th September 2018, we started decorating Hughenden Primary’s hall ready for our Macmillan coffee afternoon. Children from the school had delivered flyers around our village and mums and dads were told of this event. We were hoping for a good turnout and we got one!

Many people from the local community came along with parents of children to support this wonderful charity and the amazing work the Macmillan nurses do helping people who have been diagnosed with cancer.

We had set up lots of tables and chairs for people to sit down and enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee with a slice of cake that Year 5 and 6 children had baked during the week.

At 2.55pm a queue had started to form outside our school hall ready for the doors to open at 3pm. There were lots of hungry and thirsty people waiting to taste our scrumptious cakes and biscuits.

I enjoyed working behind the stall helping my classmates to serve the amazing cakes and I even had fun clearing up. We raised a huge £350.00 for this important cause.

A big thank you to everyone who came and supported this wonderful event.''
