Modeshift STARS Awards

23rd November 2017

National STARS School Travel Award

''On Thursday, 23rd November 2017 four children from KS2, Mrs O’Malley and Mrs Lane travelled to London, to attend the event.

Out of 3000 schools 90 get nominated for the award each year. This year our school got nominated for outstanding work we have done to encourage walking, cycling and using other modes of sustainable traveling to school.

First we took the train to Marylebone, it was very busy. Then we walked to Baker Street and took the tube to King’s Cross. From there we walked to Camden Centre where the event took place from 11am to 1:30 pm. There were many other schools there, from all over the east and south east region of the UK.

We took part in some fun activities to get to know some children and adults from other schools. We did not get the award this year, but we were proud of how far we got.

Later on, we walked to the King’s Cross station and to our surprise we got to Harry Potter shop. Everyone choose an item to remember this day.

Then it was time to go back home. It was a fun day and we enjoyed our trip to London.''
